Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massage modality that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem (ex. frozen shoulder). People tend to assume therapeutic massage means deep tissue massage but this is not always the case. A good therapist will apply the specific techniques and the right amount of pressure to address your need. Therapeutic massage, in addition to deep tissue, may include neuromuscular massage, myofascial massage, trigger point therapy, or sports massage.

Relaxation Massage
Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massage you can get. It emphasizes long strokes, kneading and friction motions to encourage proper circulation. Swedish techniques involve rubbing muscles together in same direction as the flow of blood to the heart in order to improve circulation, stretch tight tendons or ligaments, reduce emotional stress, and work your mind and body into a state of relaxation.

Prenatal Massage
While pregnant, the body is in a very delicate state. Regular massage and deep tissue can affect your body and unborn child. Prenatal Massage is a specific technique that works on your sore, aching muscles while avoiding certain areas and substances that may induce labor or reduce the amount of oxygen supplied to the baby. When pregnant, a prenatal massage is an excellent way to alleviate pain while keeping you and your little one safe.

Lymphatic Massage
Your lymphatic system is one of the most important aspects of your immunity. The lymphatic system helps to rid the body of excess fluid and by-products of natural bodily functions. Lymphatic massage is a gentle, non-invasive, and systematic treatment that involves rhythmic pumping and stretching of the skin to assist the flow and drainage of lymphatic fluid. Effects of Manual Lymph Drainage include: increases lymph flow, stimulates the immune system, improves skin healing, reduces skin adhesions and fibrosis, reduces edema and pain, and calms the nervous system. This type of massage is ideal for edema, post surgery, post injury, weakened immune systems, chronic pain, arthritis relief, and general well being.

Hot Stone Massage
This type of massage involves the use and movement of heated basalt river rock on the body. The massage therapist works the muscles through long, gliding strokes with the stones. As the heat transfers from the stone to the muscles, your muscles will feel looser as the tension melts away. Hot stone massage is a great way to increase circulation and decrease tension in muscles.
-
Reflexology
The hands and feet are believed to be the gateway to the body, having over 7,000 nerve endings in each foot. The skin of your hands and feet are the most permeable and receptive areas of your outside body. Reflexology is the idea that the pressure points in the hands and feet correspond to certain organs and areas, and when worked, can help realign those areas and possibly identify if something is wrong.
-
Cupping
Cupping is an alternative therapy that uses suction cups to stimulate your skin, muscles, and break up fascia. The suction promotes increased blood circulation to help relieve muscle tension, promote cell repair, and aid in other regeneration.
-

Policies and Info

If at all possible, provide 24 hours when canceling your appointment. If you are unable to give 24 hours advance notice you will be charged 50% of the amount for your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment. This is out of respect to the therapist who has planned their schedule around their appointments. It is also out of respect for fellow clients who are looking to schedule appointments and the schedule is full. With prior notice, we are able to help as many clients as possible.
We understand life events happen: for those providing less than the 24 hour notice to reschedule, a cancellation fee of 50% will be charged at the discretion of the therapist with whom you booked. -
We regret that late arrivals may not receive extension of scheduled appointments. In special cases, and when our schedule will allow, we may be able to accommodate a partial or full appointment. This will be at our discretion and only with proper, advanced notification of your late arrival. The original reservation fee will be charged.
-
We understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life. Unforeseen events such as car problems, business meetings, children’s illnesses, are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling a massage appointment. However, we ask that you call if you cannot keep your appointment. Clients who fail to show for appointments will be charged the full amount for the appointment and blocked from future bookings until paid. You may also be asked to pre-pay for future services.
-
Please arrive for your appointment at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. All massages have a specific time schedule and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience.
-
Prior to each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. Prior to your first visit, you will receive a copy via email, text, or paper of the massage therapy policies and will be asked to sign the consent stating that you have read the information, understand it, and agree to comply with the professional massage therapy policies and procedures. Clients that have not been seen for at least a year will also be asked to fill out this form.
-
It is the responsibility of the client to keep their therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken, and understand that certain conditions may require written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., for the massage to be continued. The client must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions. For clients undergoing chemo and radiation therapies – Please note that we require a doctor’s note that states the doctor is aware of, and agrees to, the desired treatment.
